Ludlow is often called "the perfect historic town". Situated on the River Teme in the outstanding countryside of the Welsh Marches, its medieval street pattern survives almost intact, along with many ancient properties including a magnificent ruined castle and one of the largest parish churches in England. There are over 500 listed buildings in the town.

Ludlow is famous for food and drink and it's festivals. There are many high quality restaurants in the town including 3 with michelin stars. The major festivals in Ludlow include Ludlow Festival which is held in the summer every year, its center-piece is the open air Shakespeare production in the beautiful surroundings of the castle. In September Ludlow hosts the Ludlow & Marches Food & Drink Festival, a delicious showcase of the best food & drink for the area and beyond.
